How is this Matcha version of Yerba Mate produced?

“We cover the yerba mate plants for about 15 days, before harvesting them, to stop their photosynthesis process, in order to concentrate the chlorophyll and antioxidants, so that it acquires a more intense green tone” says Mario.

“Harvest is made totally by hand and we only take the leaves of the plant, no stems at all. Then, we dry the Yerba Mate leaves at a low temperature. As a result we have a product that has even more properties than a japanese matcha”

Because the minerals are more concentrated in the leaves than in the branches, a superlatively rich raw material is obtained in vitamins (particularly “C” and “B”), while also maintaining around 80% of the chlorophyll, the which has detoxifying, anti-inflammatory and antitumor properties.

In addition, it is one of the vegetables with the highest concentration of magnesium in the world (with values ​​around 570 mg C/100gr, according to UBA – University of Buenos Aires analysis).

What is Matcha?

Matcha is a fine powder made from green tea leaves, it is part of an ancient tradition of tea ceremonies in Asia, which was born in China and spread to Japan.
