“Don Arregui” is a small and growing company that produces high quality yerba mate with herbs. They are located in the province of Córdoba, central part of Argentina. Thanks to its excellent quality its number of followers have increased dramatically over the last 2 years. They attended at MATEAR 2017, held in “La Rural”, Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Peperina or mint peperina (Minthostachys verticillata) is a wild aromatic plant of the family of the Lamiaceae. The plant has a characteristic leaf, generally rounded and with a plush appearance. Its aroma varies between mint, camphor and rosemary, which gives a fresh aroma to mate, which is why the combination is so appreciated, while its flavor is between sweet and bitter. Is the only species of the genus Minthostachys known from Argentina. It occurs in the northwestern and central regions of the country.

The Peperina offers relief to the affections of the respiratory tract, at the time that favors the expectoration, especially used in vapors. But in addition, recent research found that it manages to strengthen the immune system, helping to reduce sensitivity to allergens. It has even been said that the effects of peperina to combat allergy are superior to those of some prescription drugs.

Poleo (Lippia Turbinata Griseb) – This pleasant smelling herb also known as “Pennyroyal” belongs to the mint family, and is a tasty addition to sun teas and cold beverages. Remedially, Poleo has been used for years to settle stomachaches, colic, and accompanying headaches. For fevers or beginning stages of colds, Poleo is either drunk or bathed in to increase perspiration, which in turn frees the body of waste and toxins. Because it is so gentle and tasty, Poleo is great in remedies for infants and children, but too much will act as an emetic.

Mint (Mentha Piperita) – The compound primarily responsible for the aroma and flavor of spearmint is R-carvone. It was originally used as a medicinal herb to treat stomach ache and chest pains. During the Middle Ages, powdered mint leaves were used to whiten teeth. It can also aids digestion.

Cedrón (Lemon Vervena) – Widely drunk as a digestive aid, making it the perfect cup for after dinner. The tea’s relaxant qualities mean that it can be drunk to sooth stomach cramps and period pain. Lemon Verbena is also calming for mind as well as body: it’s well-known for relieving stress and nervousness.
